Bio

 

Born in 1959 and currently living in Washington DC, Bernard earned a Bachelors degree from Kings College in Wilkes-Barre, PA and has studied Art at the Art League School in Alexandria, Virginia. In addition, he has taken several workshops with national well known painters He has been a member of the Washington Society of Landscape Painters since 2003 and currently serves on the Board as Treasurer. He exhibits and has won awards through several venues in the Washington DC metro area. In the spring 2008 publication of The Nature Conservancy Magazine, One of his paintings was featured with a group article about plein air painting.

 

 

Statement

 

What or where I paint is not important. What is important is to reveal to the viewer, through simple shape, strong design and economy of means, my impression of a subject. I am always inspired by the beauty in the overlooked and continually work towards revealing the abstract simplicity in the chaotic.
